Amanda and Janna was born in London,United Kingdom. As twin sisters they grew up in Indonesia, Australia and The Netherlands. Amanda, a proud graduate with honors from Haagse Hogeschool in The Hague with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in International and Janna, a Bachelor of Fashion Business, Technology (Ing.) from Amsterdam Fashion Institute, have together redefined modern resort wear.
Since the debut of Ghea Resort by Amanda Janna, their collections have graced the runways of Jakarta Fashion Week, Indonesian Fashion Week, and even showcased their collection at the Javits Center Trade Show during the New York Fashion Week.
Ghea Resort by Amanda Janna aims to preserve Indonesian nature and culture through fashion products and accessories, as well as home essentials.
Born in Rotterdam and educated in Europe, Ghea Panggabean is one of Indonesia's most celebrated fashion designers, known for championing a revival of the nation's rich textile traditions. After graduating from the prestigious Lucy Clayton College in London, she returned to Indonesia and, in 1980, established her own fashion design studio. Since then, she has opened several ateliers and boutiques in Jakarta, with a mission to develop, celebrate, and promote the country's fashion heritage.
From the very beginning of her career, Ghea has incorporated nearly every traditional Indonesian fabric into the world of fashion. She has proudly represented Indonesian textiles on the global stage, participating in renowned fashion shows like New York Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, Jakarta Fashion Week, and the Islamic Fashion Festival in London. Her designs have also graced the runways of Monte Carlo, Cannes, Dubai, and many more.
A signature of Ghea's work is her strong use of folkloric elements, especially the Jumputan tie-dyed fabrics from Palembang, known as Pelangi Palembang, which have been a hallmark of her collections since the 1980s. Through her innovative and elegant designs, Ghea continues to bring the beauty and diversity of Indonesian textiles to the world.
